This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Arm & Hammer.
Some people have a fear of spiders, some heights, some even crowds. Me? Laundry. It's a very real condition called "Stankyclothesphobia"
The sight of my closet puking out dirty clothes sends shivers down my spine.
One would think that in a home of just myself and one child, laundry wouldn't be that bad. But you haven't met The Kid. There isn't a sport this boy doesn't like, nor a mud puddle he can stay away from. Grass stains and caked on mud are the norm.
And when all those nasty clothes are put together, who wouldn't be scared!!
I need a hero. I need a SAVIOR!
What's this? Arm&Hammer to the rescue!
This truly is the Superman of laundry detergent.
Not only does the smell of this thick blue liquid straight from the heavens make me swoon, it's effect on the clothes is amazing.
See this dirt?
Buh bye!
I had a sweater with a huge salad dressing stain (they really need to invent couture adult bibs) and now? NOTHING!
In the past I would have to use detergent and some sort of stain fighting goop to get rid of the damage the outdoors does to our clothes, but with Arm&Hammer it's all in one easy solution.
Trust me on this, do yourself and your terrifying laundry pile a favor, run out and get some Arm&Hammer. Your family and clothes will thank you.
Speaking of thanking things, how about a $200 Visa gift card action for you, thanks to Arm&Hammer! Just leave a comment and tell your family’s favorite outdoor activity that makes laundry a feat too.
In addition, check out the BlogHer.com special offers page for even more chances to win!

ReplyDeleteMy kids love sports too so we are often out in the yard tossing a football or baseball or shooting hoops! But the boys football pants are the worst...baseball close 2nd, they both require white pants, whose idea was that anyway???
ReplyDeletejenchic31[at]msn[dot]com
It would for sure be my husband playing rugby. Grass, mud, blood and muck... YUCK. And thanks for doing this review blog! Regardless if I win or not, I will try Arm & Hammer.
ReplyDeleteBecky, too :-)
For us, our favorite spring activity is hiking...which in the Midwest and with two kids means mud, mud, puddle jumping and more mud!
ReplyDeleteWith a 6 year old and a 3 year old, spring is my worst nightmare. My kids too can not resist a puddle, so dirty, salty pant legs are found in abundance in my house!
ReplyDeleteFavorite outdoor activity? That would be spinning! And falling! And spinning! And falling! And spinning! And falling! Aaaaand then walking like a kitty.
ReplyDeleteUm...for Eva. Not me. ...Usually.
Thanks for the chance, Becky!
With 2.5 yr old quadruplets ANYTHING we do outside makes us messy! It's always a good time though!

Hmmm, I'd have to say that eating is a very cleanliness challenge in our house. And growing mud. Which we do a lot of being we're in Seattle and it's always wet, and it's an easy thing to grow here. At least for the kids.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite outdoor family activity is going to the beach, and sand gets into EVERYTHING. I worry that our laundry machine will stop working because sand will get trapped in it.

I can't pick one! The weather has made it even worse because it's been really nice lately and the kids have been outside a lot playing in the grass, riding their bikes, playing soccer! So many stains!
ReplyDeleteJust general outdoor playing and the accompanying ground in dirt and grass stains are a big laundry challenge.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with the beach too! Sand just gets into everything! :)
ReplyDeleteThe outdoor activity that makes laundry a challenge is when we go berry picking. We go strawberry and blueberry picking every year. Which is a fun family activity, but sometimes the blueberries can stain our clothing.

I'm just starting to introduce my son to mountain biking. He took his first spill in a field yesterday. (Hello Goose Poop!) I've used this detergent before and I would have to say I prefer this brand over others. I feel like you don't have to use as much and it doesn't smell too perfume-y (is that even a word - is now). We also have a love/hate affair with sidewalk chalk. It gets everywhere (as in, inside the clothes too). I can't believe your washcloth got so clean! WOW. ;-)
ReplyDeleteTweet, tweet: Becky reviewed Arm & Hammer. I really like it too: http://mikkimotoreviews.blogspot.com/2010/03/clean-clothes-and-200-visa-gift-card.html
ReplyDelete(that's two puppies with new homes)
Our new favorite outdoor activity is spending time in the garden. We always come in the house covered with mud and straight to the shower we go.
ReplyDeleteseanm1999@hotmail.com
my kids love playing in dirt.
ReplyDeleteI have 5 kids - 4 boys & 1 girl....need I say more? We have everything from muddy grass stains to lip gloss in our repertoire of stains. While the boys do there part in contributing, I think my 8 year old daughter's favorite activity is changing her clothes! One minute she's wearing dress up clothes, the next she's in her soccer uniform, and the next time you see her she might be wearing a bathing suit..even in the winter! There's definitely no lack of imagination here & there's always a pile of dirty clothes waiting to greet me!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are some tough stains. My husband's outdoor bootcamp workout stains are the worst for me. Grass, mud, dirt, sweat...yuck!

With 2 girls (a preteen and teen) who change their clothes constantly and an 11 yr old boy who doesnt change until he is told to, I have a lot of laundry that needs to be cleaned. I am always looking for products that can clean our clothes with ease. This looks like great product.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know if you'd call it a favorite activity, but my husband is a licensed contractor, and manages to find dirt and grime inside and outside of the homes he repairs and remodels - you name it, mud, grease, paint, caulk, broken pens in the pocket (difficult to remove, sometimes you just have to give up), you name it, I've had to deal with it in the laundry. I am so anxious to try this new product - his clothes are the ultimate challenge! So, how does the puppy thing work? Are the sponsors funding adoptions at shelters? Or is it like, every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings? I'm curious.

This time of year is the worst for us especially with a new walker who falls over and starts crawling across the driveway and yard! ugh! Laundry is a HUGE chore here too! I do at least 2 loads a DAY EVERY DAY!
ReplyDeleteProbably picnics. Kids like to smear their pb&j sandwich fingers all over everything except the delegated napkins.
ReplyDeleteCourageousMother
Softball in spring brings grass stains to my wash and sometimes all they have to do is walk out to get the paper/mail. My family provides lots of yearround stains from dripping catsup.
ReplyDeleteWe love to go hiking in the summer and fall. It never fails that one of us slips and falls into a mud puddle or something.
ReplyDeletemattschmunk at hotmail dot com
playing in the yard and grass stain are so hard to get out
ReplyDeleteCAMPING! We love to camp! Dirt Dirt everywhere! Especially mixing fishing in with that. The slime and blood and mud and 2 boys 6 & 9! Woowee! Could use that!
ReplyDeleteLong walks! You come back smelly, but they're the best!
ReplyDeletePlaying in the sprinklers = major grass stains! What a great giveaway. I will for sure try this detergent. kiki(at)hantla(dot)com
ReplyDeleteTwo teenagers who play soccer and football=dirt magnets. Add to that having to wash clothes in the communal condo laundry room=hate to do laundry. Makes for piles of stankalicious laundry. Could use the Arm and Hammer. Oh, and the gift card to help buy my own washer!

Our laundry difficulties tend to be with food spills and an occasional grass stain from playing outside. My sister has a big challenge on her hands with my 3 year old nephew who keeps getting into her lipstick and "drawing" with it.

ReplyDeleteMy worst laundry problem is that my hubby likes to work on his street rod. GREASE, GREASE AND MORE GREASE !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite outdoor activity that leads to lots of laundry is gardening. After we plant all of the vegetables, we usually look like we have been playing in the mud. It's really messy and dirty.

Between doing yard work and my husband working on our cars himself, my laundry is quite the challenge..especially in nice weather. Grass stains seem to almost rival the oil stains on my husband's t-shirts when he changes the oil on our cars. I secretly wish he'd just spend the extra money and take them to the Lube Stop so I wouldn't have to try mixing up potions in the basement laundry room made from pretreaters and laundry soap trying to get the stains out of his t-shirts.
